Pastor Ken Van Schelven

Welcome to our website!

Yes we're a friendly church - very friendly.  Come visit us and find out for yourself.  There's more to being a church than being friendly though.  With that in mind, as we start the year at Knollbrook we're looking to put the accent on spiritual growth.   As church, Peter tells us we're to live holy and godly lives - we're to be a congregation that's motivated by purity and the fact that we belong to God - not just as we come together (the church gathered), but also when we're apart (the church scattered) - living our daily lives.  No matter where we are may our lives powerfully demonstrate that we belong to God.

We're also going to make every effort to be found spotless and blameless and at peace with him.These are the things that we are to strive for in our daily lives making every effort to fulfill the Lord's desire for us individually and as a church. May we become more aware of the kinds of actions and attitudes that need to take over our lives - words filled with grace; actions that show we do indeed love one another; that we care for the community around us. In the Lord's name we want to make a difference.

In this year we're looking to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We're looking to a year of commitment - all of us, each one of us taking more of the character of Jesus - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self -control, humility, self-sacrifice. We need to become more a people open to the Holy Spirit changing us, praying for him to in fact work these godly graces into our lives.

Finally, as a church we're looking to grow in knowledge of our Lord.  We need to grow in our awareness and understanding of our Lord through the Scriptures - his truths; the life he calls us and empowers us to live. We're also called to know him in the intimacy of a relationship - to walk with him, to talk with him, follow him.

A resounding "yes"! Because he... is able to do far more abundantly all that we ask or think according to the power that works within us, to him be glory in the church&hellep;

If you're "just passin' through" on the way to somewhere else, we'd love to have you join us for worship and fellowship. If you're looking for a church home, we'd love have you consider Knollbrook!

May his blessing be yours,
Pastor Ken
